Anyone can pause

Anyone can take a break or stop drinking. It is especially a challenge to live a fun and sober life after you (temporarily) stop drinking.

How do you live that 'a fun and sober life'? We come with tips.

Tip 1 Walk for 30 minutes every day

Nature does everyone good. Take the time every day to take a walk of half an hour and take a good look around you. You will soon experience more peace in your body.

Tip 2 Work up a sweat 2 x a week

If you can, in addition to all that walking, you exercise intensively another 2 times a week. Exercising is a natural way of producing dopamine (happiness hormone). In other words: sports make you very happy.

Tip 3 Eat healthy

Not drinking, but eating a fat bite every day is a missed opportunity. You will feel even better if you pay attention to your diet in addition to not drinking. Healthy food makes you feel better. Your skin also reaps the benefits of a healthy diet.

Tip 4 Take me-time regularly

Not having to do anything from yourself is very healthy. Take your rest moments during the day and do something you enjoy (reading a bit, removing weeds from the garden, doing puzzles), but leave the screens for what they are for a while.

Tip 5 Keep track of your social contacts

Meeting with family & friends is important. You need them in good times and in bad times. Now that you have taken a different path (for a while), it is nice to be able to turn to the people who are important to you. They can support you when you are having a hard time or they give you energy.
