Going to a festival and not drinking alcohol
The summer months are full of festivals. Whether it's Lowlands or the fair in the village; there is also a lot to do in August. And all that fun is often accompanied by (a lot of) alcohol. This way you keep it sober and cozy, even during the festival season.
You don't have to do it alone
Most people party together. At the festival, your village fete, the fair, or the motocross, surround yourself with people you feel comfortable with. And especially inform them about your intention not to drink alcohol / your alcohol break. This way they know they don't have to take you on beer and wine rounds. And no alcohol is pressed into your hands before you can say no.
Find the entertainment that appeals to you
Enjoy everything the festival or other fun has to offer to the fullest. And choose the entertainment that does not involve alcohol at all. Perhaps there are workshops to follow, art objects to view or live bands to listen to. You will find that most activities can be enjoyed without alcohol.
Think about yourself
To get through a festival sober, you 'just' don't have to drink. Despite all the activities and fun, make sure you stay well hydrated and eat enough. Treat yourself to a nice meal that you really enjoy. That too is an experience.
Tip: Make a schedule in which you experience the best activities and take enough breaks to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, the food and the people you are with.
