Sooooooo tired during your break period

Fatigue can be one of the withdrawal symptoms you experience during your break period. But unlike other withdrawal symptoms, that fatigue can last quite a long time. Why is that and how can you best deal with this fatigue?

During your break period you may suffer from fatigue. This marked fatigue is called an abstinence symptom and also called a withdrawal symptom. Fatigue, unlike headaches or sweating, is a withdrawal symptom that can last longer. You can suffer from this for quite a long time. How long the fatigue and other withdrawal symptoms last has to do with, among other things, how long and how much has been drunk, physical condition and sensitivity. Source: jellinek.nl.

Arm yourself against fatigue

Feeling tired at times when you would actually like to be full of energy is not pleasant. Fortunately, you can do something about this feeling yourself.

  1. Move! Make it a habit to exercise or walk for at least 1 to 2 hours. Making the body 'healthy tired' is important. Too little exercise because you are tired only exacerbates the fatigue.
  2. Pay attention to a healthy diet and drink plenty of water. In addition, take vitamin B tablets as a supplement to your daily diet.
  3. As hard as it is, try not to sleep during the day. This disrupts your day and night rhythm.
  4. Speaking of day and night rhythm: only go to bed when you are really tired and get up at a fixed time every day, preferably early in the morning. In the long run you will sleep better on (source: jellinek.nl).

What if this doesn't work?

If you are unable to shake off the fatigue after using the above tips, visit your doctor. Reassurance and other tips may help to dispel the fatigue.
