'I really expected that first beer to be so good'
Yes, it's done! We did it. The fast is over.
And of course that had to be celebrated with a beer! I've been looking forward to that beer for weeks. Tired of it, longs for it. Thinking back to the times I enjoyed it so much. And then the moment was finally there!
And then that beer turned out to be so glorified.
Yes really. The first 3 sips tasted good. But then it diminished. Well, drunk of course. Maybe it was the beer? Something other than. I like to drink bock beer, so a Brand Lentebock. It didn't just taste bad, it was just plain dirty. So I just left that one.
Okay, beer hasn't been a success so far. Wine then? I prefer to drink rosé, so that was a logical choice. Unfortunately, that didn't taste like anything either. Back in the bottle with that glass. Chardonnay then? Yes, that's okay. But that's it. So after 1 beer, 1 sip of Lentebock, 1 sip of rosé and 1 glass of chardonnay I went back to spa red.
The next day I actually had a hangover. And not in the sense of a headache, but I did feel that I had been drinking. A bit broke, body upset… After an inactive day, some extra food and rest, that also passed. But it really wasn't worth it.
Current status
We are now almost a week further. In the meantime I opened a bottle of my favorite rosé and drank a very modest glass of it. That was nice. And enough.
I am quite surprised with this result. I really expected that first beer to be this good! And I'm very curious how this will develop. Would my preference for beer come back? I do believe that for the time being I drink less than before. I really can't imagine how I feel now after a night of heavy drinking. And I don't need that, to be honest. I am very happy that the challenge is over. And that I can decide for myself whether I pour a glass or not.
For the participants of the 30-day challenge: Cheers in advance! I can't wait to see how your first one will taste!
